July 9, 2020 – ECLOF International issues its Annual Report for 2019: a year that has seen a 12% growth of the network’s micro loan portfolio to a level of USD 46.38M now benefiting 139,000 clients. Growth remained focused on vulnerable communities with 64% of the network loans serving rural clients, and 68% of the loans disbursed to women.

The Report is built around ECLOF’s strategic themes of Innovative Client Service, Churches & Communities Support and Rural & Agricultural Outreach. Besides offering data on the operations and outreach of ECLOF in each country, it illustrates how ECLOF pursues social impact through micro loans and related training services in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It highlights the work undertaken in the Dominican Republic to create opportunities for young people, and the comprehensive approach to rural development in Myanmar, which goes beyond the simple concept of only delivering financial services. ECLOF’s efforts towards a cleaner environment are also captured with stories about impacting lives though green energy loans in Kenya, training clients in hydroponics as a sustainable agricultural technique in Colombia, and promoting organic farming methods in rural areas of the Philippines and Ecuador.

An interview with a Christian partner agency of ECLOF, the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (Canada) outlines how supporting ECLOF helps both partners attain their mission.
