To celebrate Christmas with our customers, staff of ECLOF Ecuador visited the community of Galte Laime in the Ecuadorian highlands. Nearly 100% of the people here are of indigenous descent. Access to basic services is limited while poverty rates and inequality are high. ECLOF was welcomed by Daniel Huaraca, indigenous leader of Puruhá origin, warrior, and community leader.
ECLOF has been serving the area with loans and training for many years. At the moment, 78 families access ECLOF’s micro loans mainly for agriculture and breeding small animals.
