ECLOF Ecuador’s 2025 Sustainability Report has been published in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. This initiative represents an important step in ECLOF Ecuador’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development within Ecuador’s Popular and Solidarity Economy.
The report provides a comprehensive overview of ECLOF Ecuador’s business model, governance, economic performance, employment practices, anti corruption measures, and customer privacy. ECLOF Ecuador continues to promote financial inclusion by expanding access to microcredit and non financial services for vulnerable rural and peri urban populations, with a particular focus on small farmers, women entrepreneurs, and both individual and solidarity groups.
In 2025, ECLOF Ecuador served 740 clients, 57% of whom were women, reinforcing its focus on poverty reduction, food security, and gender equality. Agricultural and community based lending remained central to the loan portfolio, supporting local livelihoods and strengthening resilience in the face of climate and economic challenges.
A key element of the report is the double materiality assessment, which identifies the significant impacts that the institution generates on the economy, the environment, and people, as well as those sustainability matters that influence the organization’s enterprise value, financial position, and operating performance. Priority areas include risk governance, climate change, client protection, prevention of over indebtedness, and safeguarding the social mission, ensuring that financial sustainability does not compromise human dignity.
The report also highlights ECLOF Ecuador’s strong governance framework, gender balanced leadership, robust anti corruption policies, and zero incidents related to customer data privacy or cybersecurity in 2025, reflecting a continued commitment to ethical management and continuous improvement. Through the publication of its first GRI Sustainability Report, ECLOF Ecuador highlights its dedication to measurable impact, responsible microfinance, and meaningful engagement with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
