José Egas

Born in Quito Ecuador, Mr Egas is a doctor of law, a theologian and a sociologist. He is an alternate legislator in his country and serves as a board member of ECLOF Ecuador. He was the former president of the Lutheran Church of Ecuador, and the Director of the Support and Refugees Committee sponsored by the WCC and CLAI, which was responsible for the project Microcredit for microfinances initiatives for refugees from Colombia and Peru. He has worked on issues of the protection of the rights of migrants, he was Deputy Coordinator of the Christian Emergency Committee, he is also a member of the Integral Family Centre working in systemic therapy care, and a member of the Ecuadorian Alfalit serving adult literacy and entrepreneurship projects.
