New appointments at ECLOF International

28 February 2012 | Meet our new Chair and new Managing Director

It is with great pleasure to inform you that Mr. Kimanthi Mutua has been named as the new Chair of ECLOF International’s Board, and the appointment of Mr. Patrick Gleeson as the new Managing Director of ECLOF International.

 

Mr Mutua is the Founder of K-Rep Bank Limited, the first NGO microfinance institution in Africa to be transformed into a regulated commercial bank specialising in microfinance. He served as the Managing Director of K-Rep Bank from 1999 to 2010 and was instrumental in the growth and development of the Bank as one of the leading promoters and innovators of microfinance services in the region. Mr Mutua has immense leadership and management experience and is very familiar in the building, the transformation, and the governance of institutions in the microfinance sector. Mr. Mutua currently provides consulting and advisory services to various institutions worldwide, and serves on several boards and advisory committees working to improve access to finance and develop the microfinance sector.

 

Pat brings over 30 years of microfinance and banking experience gained from working throughout the world in Europe, Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. He previously served as the Director of Operations at the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance and has extensive experience in the establishment, management, governance, and capacity building of microfinance institutions. Pat has served on the Boards of a number of leading microfinance institutions and has successfully led and managed change across different cultures.

These appointments, together with the appointment of a new Board in 2011, will serve to strengthen the organisation in meeting the challenges ahead to build a sustainable network capable of delivering a range of microfinance services to its clients, while remaining focused on its mission.
