ECLOF Myanmar's staff teaches youths to make and sell soap

07 June 2012 | To help them recover from a flood that destroyed their houses

The flood of the Shwe-Chaung River at Pa-kok-ku destroyed buildings and houses alongside the river bank.

To help the inhabitants of the region, the Government constructed new houses and established a new ward. ECLOF Myanmar provided small business loans to the villagers. But as our Organization was also responsible for implementing the LIFT project in the area, a team from Yangoon went to Pa-kok-ku on March 7 to 8, 2012 and taught the youths from the affected area to make soap. During the session, they produced a great quantity of liquid soap that ECLOF Myanmar’s staff then helped them to sell at optimal conditions.
