Loan learning

Karine Tsarukyan, loan officer for Armenian ECLOF, recently served an internship with the ECLOF International secretariat in Geneva. As a loan officer in Armenia, Karine deals with the whole loan application and monitoring process, including documentation and repayments. She also handles any bad debts that occur and explains that these usually involve first time clients, who are not yet familiar with the credit and repayment system. Karine goes through the processes again with these clients and, where necessary, finds individual solutions for them.

Karine used her internship in Geneva to learn about the process at ECLOF International for appraising the loan proposals it receives for approval. She first worked on project proposals from her own NEC, and then on some from other NECs. She says that with each proposal she learnt something new, and now will share this new knowledge with her colleagues in Armenia.
