Ghana director joins new finance network
The executive director of ECLOF Ghana, Magnus Amoa-Bosompem, has been elected as the national vice-chairman of the recently created Association of Financial Non-Governmental Organizations (ASSFIN) in Ghana. ASSFIN exists to enhance the institutional capacity of the microfinance sector in the country, and support its development. The association also aims to establish performance indicators, and create a favourable environment for the self-regulation of financial non-governmental organizations in order that they can meet local and international best practices in the microfinance industry.
The minister of state for the Northern Region of Ghana inaugurated ASSFIN in October 2005 in Tamale, the regional capital, during an exhibition that was part of Ghana's celebrations to mark the United Nations International Year of Microcredit. Magnus Amoa-Bosompem was a member of the national planning committee for these celebrations, which took place from August to December last year.
