Largest ever ECLOF workshop
Organisers of the African Regional Workshop, held in Harare, Zimbabwe 29 July to 3 August 2001, could not accommodate all those who wished to attend. Even so, with 73 people present, including three NEC members from Bolivia, Dominican Republic and the Philippines, this was the largest ECLOF workshop ever held.A packed agenda went with the crowded room.

2001 ECLOF Geneva board meets
ECLOF and Oikocredit establish strategic alliance

The 2001 ECLOF board meeting took place on 22 and 23 November. It was preceded by a half-day seminar for new board members, and followed by a half-day seminar on “HIV/AIDS and Micro Finance”.

 

Zimbabwe National Association of Cornershops (ZNAC)

ZNAC is a national association founded by and comprised of small and micro scale entrepreneurs. Some of its aims are to:

  • promote and represent the interests of tuck shop operators;
  • assist members with loans/credit facilities;
  • provide education on how to run businesses;
  • assist members in the operation of their businesses, including securing work places for their tuck shops, sourcing raw material and other identified inputs in bulk;
  • protect members from harassment or any form of threat that hinders the progress of business;
  • give members a united voice in business.
