Côte
dIvoire
Paul-Wood Gnagne Agnero is the new president of ECLOF
Côte dIvoire. Paul-Wood is the founder and director
of his own intermediate and small-business consultancy firm,
as well as a socio-economic advisor to the government. He
also heads the management committee of the Methodist Church
of the Côte dIvoire, is the senior executive of
the Communauté Financière Méthodiste
(Methodist Financial Community), and represents his church
on the ECLOF board.
Cameroon
ECLOF Cameroon has a new Executive Director. Léodor
Audigé took up the post in January. Léodor
has dual nationalityHaitian and Frenchand comes
to ECLOF with a background in accountancy and computers. After
working in France as a computer analyst and programmer, he
joined the French Cooperation for assignment in Cameroon.
Afterwards, in addition to co-founding and successfully managing
a computer, photocopier and solar panels supply company, he
became deeply involved in community support work. He is a
former director of an institute that specialises in re-educating
and re-integrating children with hearing deficiencies. He
founded a school in Douala for deaf children, and assisted
in opening schools for deaf children in other cities in the
country. He helped in efforts to re-establish a rural hospital
by re-organising its accounting and management procedures,
and has done fundraising both nationally and abroad to finance
several development projects. Léodor is a member of
the Baptist Church in the capital, Yaoundé.
Philippines
ECLOF Philippines has welcomed Lauro (Larry) Chee Millan
as its new Executive Director. Larry has long been active
in the life of the church at both local and national levels,
and the ecumenical movement in general. He was born into a
business environment and educated as a lawyer. Even before
finishing his studies, Larry was already involved in community
work including paralegal training, human rights education,
popular housing and micro finance. He is also a part-time
professor at a local womens university. Coming from
the private micro finance sector, Larry feels that one of
the challenges he faces is to improve the repayment rate of
ECLOF Philippines, as well as to branch out to be closer to
clients.
Peru
Rev.
David Limo Pajar has taken over as the new president of
ECLOF Peru. He represents the Lutheran Church on the board.
Pastor Limo was ordained in 1992 and serves in an urban area.
His work there has given the new president extensive experience
in the area of financial management, operational planning
and the development of community service organizations. He
has served as treasurer for a church-related NGO, and worked
with this group on its strategic planning. Pastor Limo has
also co-ordinated a major programme of pastoral accompaniment
for those living with AIDS and their families.
