Controls in Bolivia
The
largest Bolivian micro finance institutions have agreed
to be regulated by a framework designed to control Private
Financial Funds (PFFs), according to a report from the
country.
Martina
Wiedmaier-Pfister, team leader of the Rural Financial Systems
Development Project, says the change is because Bolivian
micro finance groups want to diversify their funding and,
in particular, be allowed to set up savings schemes.
